While in County Tipperary, our host told us of some ruins we should bike to see. We attempted one day, but the bike tires went flat and we couldn’t keep up with the air requirements. The next day, we drove to the ruins and went for a walk.
This is a picture from the top of a small hill looking down on the abbey. We have no idea what abbey this was or the importance of it, but it was beautiful to walk around.
Notice the window on the left is stoned in…we heard about a “daylight tax” where people were forced to pay taxes based on the number of windows they had…we’re not sure if that’s the reason for this one being closed or not, but it’s an interesting thought.
