As I mentioned earlier, Matt and I figured out the 10-second delay on our camera. This left us no longer dependent on others to take our photo. We set out across Ireland and served as our own photographer throughout the countryside. Below are some of our better shots.

Mysterious Abbey
While in County Tipperary, our host told us of some ruins we should bike to see. We attempted one day, but the bike tires went flat and we couldn’t keep up with the air requirements. The next day, we drove to the ruins and went for a walk.
This is a picture from the top of a small hill looking down on the abbey. We have no idea what abbey this was or the importance of it, but it was beautiful to walk around.
Notice the window on the left is stoned in…we heard about a “daylight tax” where people were forced to pay taxes based on the number of windows they had…we’re not sure if that’s the reason for this one being closed or not, but it’s an interesting thought.
Around County Tipperary
Here are some photos that I couldn’t put into any other post.
Here is us driving in Kilkenny. Scary.
Turns out the Irish love the Chief’s too.
One afternoon we took the advice of our host and had lunch at Cafe’ Hans. It was one of those fancy, expensive, tasty places. We really enjoyed our lunch and were stuffed the rest of the day.
Below is my dessert. YUMM-O!
The following pictures are of Kilkenny Castle. The castle has beautiful grounds and they were covered with people enjoying the beautiful day.
The picture below is of the Butler House and Gardens. Again, a beautiful place to visit and enjoy the day.
These last pictures are of the Dominican Church in Kilkenny. It has a beautiful stained glass window that Matt captured in this picture.
This is the outside of the church, showing the stained glass window.
Rock of Cashel
While in County Tipperary, we visited the Rock of Cashel. This is a historic site where it was home to the King of Munster. Apparently, St. Patrick converted the king.
Below is a picture of the ceiling at the rock. It’s amazing how well preserved some of the buildings are.
Here is our 10-second delay photo for the Rock of Cashel.
Coopers Cottage
Our second cottage was in County Tipperary, southeast Ireland. We picked this location to help facilitate our travels in the area (soon to be pictured).
It was great to have a kitchen and cottage again. We resumed our lifestyle of cooking breakfast every morning and dinner most nights. It was glorious.
